flea market earrings

I’ve had these earrings for a while now but haven’t used them recently because the cameo on one of them fell off. I hadn’t gone out to buy Krazy Glue until two nights ago, so it’s been sitting in my jewelry box for quite a bit… Until yesterday! I finally wore them again to work and dinner out. Yey!

I got these earrings at a small flea market somewhere on 6th Avenue almost two years ago from a guy named Bruce (who bears a striking resemblance to Brad Pitt! Cel, Yessa and I would swoon over him every time we went perusing through the wares at that flea market. If I remember correctly though, he doesn’t go for girls, if you know what I mean, which is a real bummer for the female population! *laughs*)

Anyway, these earrings bear the inscription of Coro, a costume jewelry company that was founded around 1901. If the research I conducted is to be believed, this pair of earrings I have was made around the year 1919 when they still used the particular Coro signature that’s on the earring backings. It’s pretty amazing to think that these earrings are 90 years old, more than three times my age!
