Running on only 3 hours of sleep, we arrived at our apartment in Saint-Germain at 4pm feeling very tired and sleepy but excited for the Paris adventure we have ahead of us. It wasn’t until we finished dinner at La Cordonnerie (on Rue Saint Roch) that the reality that we were in Paris really sunk in. We’ve been planning this for quite a while now; we bought our plane tickets way back in March. And to be finally here, after all that waiting, brought a certain level of disbelief.
It’s hard not to fall for a city like this. And right now, it seems it would be easy to give up the stressful hustle and bustle of New York for the chill, je-ne-sais-quoi quality that Paris exudes. Henry, Aldrich, Sharmz and I found ourselves saying far too often, “Walang ganito sa New York.” The Paris I’m discovering now is far more interesting and beautiful than the one I did in 2003 when I was merely 17 years old and perhaps didn’t yet know how to appreciate a city like this.
We’ve only had 8 hours in Paris so far, but I’m definitely already in love with it.
